COURSE DESCRIPTION: This is the North Carolina Real Estate Commission's 2023-2024 Commercial Broker-in-Charge Update course for the renewal period July 1, 2023 through June 10, 2024. Topics discussed include:

- Challenges of a Changing Market

- Law & Rules Update

- Licensing & Education

- BIC Policies

- Commercial Form Changes

Important Note: BICs and BIC-Eligible Brokers must take the BIC RE Update course. Brokers who are NOT BIC/BIC-Eligible will not receive CE credit for the BIC Update and must complete the General Update.

This class is being offered online live-stream through Zoom. Please review our Synchronous (live-stream) Class Technology requirements. Please be sure the have latest version of the Zoom application downloaded to your computer/tablet BEFORE class.

COURSE MATERIALS: Course materials will be located in your student dashboard available for download via Canopy Campus prior to start of course. In-Person Classes only: Students will receive a hardcopy of the course materials when you arrive to class.

NOTE: Hardcopies of student materials may be available upon request by emailing canopyreinstitute@canopyrealtors.com. Shipping and handling charges will apply if request is for delivery. Arrangements must be made for request by pickup at our office. Canopy Real Estate Institute is located at 1120 Pearl Park Way, Charlotte, NC 28204 and open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4pm, excluding holidays.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: Students are required to attend 90% of this class. Students cannot make up missed time due to lateness or absences. Students should ensure they can attend the required classroom hours before registering for a class. Students cannot use the 10% to leave the class early.

COMPLETION & PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENT: Students will not receive credit for class time and participation if they fail to adhere to the policies outlined in our Policies and Procedures Disclosure.

COURSE CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING: Canopy Real Estate Institute reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses that have not yet begun as needed. Our minimum enrollment requirement is ten (10) students. Students enrolled in a rescheduled or cancelled course that has not yet begun will be given a minimum of 24-hour notice of the cancellation or new course schedule. Students will have the option to reschedule to another course or receive a full tuition refund, if applicable. Students who cannot attend the rescheduled course date(s) have the option to be counted as absent, reschedule to another course, or receive a full tuition refund.

Canopy Real Estate Institute DOES NOT provide refunds for continuing education courses. You may withdraw from a course by giving written notice to the school prior to day of course. In such event, you will be rescheduled to a future course or registration placed on "hold" status. Courses due to transfers, rescheduling or registration "holds" must be completed on or before June 10 of the same license period and CANNOT be applied to another license period.
